I "Sailor Free" nascono nell'autunno del 1991 dall'incontro tra quattro musicisti già attivi negli anni '80 nella scena rock indipendente romana: il batterista Stefano Toni, il bassista Alfonso Nini, il chitarrista Stefano Barelli e David Petrosino, compositore, cantante e tastierista.
